Oriental Dining Room Collections Of Jade, Ivory,
|
Art Deco With |
Contemporary Sculpture |
||||
What a unique approach. Eliminate the mundane by creating an entry into this dining room. Since Oriental is the theme, the circular Oriental opening gives immediate far eastern vibes to whomever enters. The 100 year old lantern, electrified for chandelier lighting, with its original hand paintings, sits midway of the six teak high back dining chairs. Two oversized dragon centerpieces sit guardingly upon the top of the Cy Mann contemporary glass topped stainless steel dining table which is protected by an Oriental, tassel-cornered runner. In the far corner sits a Korean Chest which holds a carved wood figure which dates back to the Ming Dynasty |
Art Deco is the period. Right to left we observe black lacquered dining chairs surrounding a black lacquered dining table. Please note the dining table has curved Oriental legs. The Oriental influence was very strong during the Art Deco period both in France and the United States. A baker’s rack sits in command overlooking the table, which is accessorized with period-friendly items. |
Some contemporary sculpture just doesn’t cut the mustard. Here is one that defies that principal big time. This beautifully designed piece shows true design ability The lines are those that show, if you will excuse the alliteration, freedom of feeling and fabulous flow. Glazed red finish covers a wooden base design. This artist knows his stuff. |

Moving into the living room area, and passing silk foliage, appropriately selected art work sits behind the wall-backed sofa. Contemporary upholstered seating, surrounding glass and stainless cocktail tables, lends to the moderne influence. An antique oval marble top table is the finishing touch to this less-is-more living room. |

The drawers and interior cabinets are lined with Orientally symboled newspaper. Hanging on the wall, and sitting on the floor, is a collection of water color painted art. A demi-lune console with artistic relief of cranes holds a pair of candelabra which are listed in Binizet, the so-called bible The bronze candelabras are of cranes perched upon the backs of turtles. In the right hand fore corner (not shown) is a corner shelf collection of interesting antiques. The center attraction of the corner shelves is a ceramic Buddha holding a child. The wall facing the water colors strikingly completes the Oriental dining room. Two glass enclosed cabinets hold a collection of Orientalia envied by any collector. Among museum quality bric-a-brac, the two dark wood cabinets house an entire collection of Rose Medallion tea pots, an entire collection of pewter tea pots, an entire collection of China tea pots and an entire collection of sterling silver tea pots. In addition there are collections of jade, ivory, petrified wood and blue and white china. Between the two cabinets sits a foo lion originally perched upon a roof top as a decoratively fired room ornament. The dining room, although tastefully designed and furnished, is a museum of one-of-a-kind objets d’art. |

Oil Painting |
Contemporary Sofa |
Back Adjusting Chaise |
||||
There is varying qualities of art. This painting displays expert ability. This oil painting can be interpreted differently by different art aficionados. Ronald Piper enjoys using art of this quality in all of his projects. |
A designer’s job consists of designing an entire room, specific areas within a room, ie. a feng shui corner or section, and specific furniture within a given area. The basic “sofa” is a good example. This sofa shows beautiful contemporary lines. Please note the return arms which double as end tables. The chrome legs allow a floating look which lightens the otherwise lengthy appearance of the upholstered item. Little touches go a long way. Furniture design, as incorporated in room design requires special expertise. |
Outdoor lawn and patio furniture should be as unique as the furniture within the residence. This back adjusting chaise offers comfort plus. Neck rolls and throw pillows add additional plushness. Coordinated colors, and proper choice of fabrics, make the world of difference. The umbrella “tops” off the overall coziness and sun blockage. |

Bombay Chest Adds To Eclectic Mixture Of Periods |
Peter Max Lives Here |
Guest Full-Bath Converted Into Guest Powder Room |
||||
A king size bed consumes the majority of space in a bedroom’s square footage. If the properly selected headboard is employed, it makes a major difference A bench at the foot of the bed doubles as an assistance in putting on shoes, as well as holding bed spreads and pillows. A comfy chair is properly placed to sit and watch T,V. The casuality of a comforter diminishes the formality of a spread or coverlet. The eclectic mixture of periods, ie. the Bombay chest at the far end of the bed, adds unique interest. |
Peter Max lives here - only vicariously with his art. The drama of a black love seat and piano are brightened up with Peter Max’s art colors which were reintroduced in the fabrics of the two occasional slipper chairs in the foreground. The pedestal in the far right corner is double-accented with red fluorescent lighting circling the upper perimeter. Coordinated color ottoman flank a glass table/shelf which faces into the bar. |
Entertainment booking agents ran their business from their home. They wanted their guest full-bath converted into a guest powder room in keeping with the nature of their business, without losing the function of the full-bath. Ronald Piper, A.S.I.D. was called in to do the transformation. A modesty divider was designed to hide the toilet and disguise the tub. A carved glass partition from sink counter top to ceiling was created, deeply etched with comedy and tragedy masks, confetti and ribbons.The cornered sink was floating off the floor. A diagonal makeup table was practical for all who entered the room. The makeup bench housed sections of makeup. A magnificent fabric was laminated to withstand any moisture from the tub when used. Corresponding colored ceramic tile and the clever usage of mirror tied the newly-designed “powder room” beautifully together. A true success story! |

Louis XVI Dining Room With Embellished Patio View |
Contemporary Multi-Functional Room. |
|||||
The best of Boca. How to embellish a beautiful pool patio view from the dining room. That was a small portion of a larger project. The view stayed constant. But the project now was to enhance the dining room. Glass was called for, as a large carved slab was placed upon two coral stone columns. Beautifully upholstered Louis XVI dining chairs flanked the dining table. Uniquely, each corner of the dining room had peach mirror strips rounding the corners, and continuing on the remaining walls in straight sheets. The mirror colors coordinated with the fabrics of the valance, side panels and upholstered chairs. An all glass Morrison chandelier majestically hung above the dining table. “A delightful sight to behold,” was the expression sighed by every viewer of the completed room. |
Contemporary was the password of this multi-functional room. Uniquely, the double door entry vestibule welcomed the residents and guests with the sophisticated casuality of a pool table. Continuing to the left were bookshelves of different configurations corresponding to that of the window, and a “family room” sofa allowed some guests to sit and rest, either waiting for their next at the pool table, or just to relax. This grand entrance was wide open to the living room and dining room and bar and stools surrounding the oversized kitchen. The hostess could be continuing the food preparation, and still be part of the entertainment and “happening” within the balance of the great room. What a great open arrangement was accomplished in this spacious home. |
